Synopsis
Satoshi and the gang stop by the foot of a mountain on Okina-Island and set up camp. That night, the three of them wake up to find the legendary Pokémon Jirachi, who had just woken up from it's thousand-year slumber. An excited Satoshi runs up to Jirachi, only to startle the Pokémon who then runs away. The next day, they meet Holly, a girl who is desperately searching for Jirachi in hopes of asking it to restore the river and forests in her now barren homeland. After hearing Holly's wishes, Satoshi and the gang decide to help Holly look for Jirachi.

Narrator: Still passing through Okina-Island on their journey back to the Kanto region, Satoshi and his friends arrive at the foot of a mountain.
ナレーション：カントー地方を目指し、旅を続けるサトシたちは、オーキナ島のとある山のふもとへとやってきた。
Kanto chihou wo mezashi, tabi wo tuzukeru Satoshi tachi wa, O-kina tou no toaru yama no fumoto he to yattekita.
Iris: I wonder what those rocks are? They sure have a weird shape.
アイリス：なんだろう？あの岩。変わった形だね。

Dent: It's almost nightfall. Why don't we stay here for the night?
デント：そろそろ日が暮れそうだし、今夜はここで野宿しようか。

Satoshi: Sure. Okay, time for dinner!
サトシ：そうだな。よーし、まずは晩飯だ！

Pokédex: Jirachi, Wish Pokémon. It wakes up every 1000 years for only 7 days. It is said to have the power to grant any wish.

Dent: I'm sure it just got surprised by Satoshi suddenly appearing. Maybe it'll show up again.
デント：きっとサトシの突然の登場に驚いただけさ。また出てくるかもしれないよ。

デント：ゆうべ、ここで…。

Holly: So where is it now? Come on, tell me, quick!
ホリー：それで、今どこにいるの？教えてよ！早く！

Satoshi: Not sure but I think it disappeared in that direction.

ホリー：ジラーチ！出てきなさい！

Lotus: My name is Lotus. I live here with my daughter Holly. Holly, where are you going?
ロータス：私はロータス。ホリーと一緒にここで暮らしてるの。あっ。ホリー、どこへ行くの？

Holly: To where Jirachi is. I have to find it. I have to ask it to grant my wish.
ホリー：ジラーチの所。絶対に見つけなきゃ。願いを叶えてもらわなきゃ。

Lotus: I understand how you feel. But like I always say, simply wishing to Jirachi is not going to save the mountain...

Dent: You want it to save you? That's your wish?
デント：助けるって、それがホリーの願いなのかい？

Lotus: Yes. We want to bring back the trees and water.
ロータス：ええ、取り戻したいのよ。緑と水を。

Satoshi: Trees and water?
サトシ：緑と水？
Midori to mizu?
Lotus: This mountain used to be covered with lush greens. Spring water flowed to the foot of the mountain and formed a beautiful lake. But a spell of dry weather caused the spring water to dry up, and soon after that, the lake and surrounding trees dried up, too. All the people living here left one after another, until finally we were the only ones left.
ロータス：かつてこの山は、美しい緑に覆われていた。湧き出た水はふもとへ流れ、豊かな湖を作っていたわ。ところが、ある時から日照りが続くようになり、湧水はほとんど出なくなって、湖は干上がり、緑も失われていった。ここに住んでいた人たちも、一人、また一人と去り、とうとう私たちだけになってしまったの。

Holly: There's an old tale of a Jirachi living in this mountain. That must be the Jirachi that Satoshi and his friends saw last night. There's no way I'm letting this chance slip by!
ホリー：昔からこの山には、ジラーチが宿っているという言い伝えがあるの。ゆうべサトシたちが見たのは、きっとそれよ。このチャンスを逃すわけには行かないわ！
Mukashi kara kono yama ni wa, Jirachi ga yadotteiru to iu iitsutae ga aruno. Yuube Satoshi tachi ga mita no wa, kitto sore yo. Kono chansu wo nogasu wake ni wa ikanai wa!
Dent: Jirachi stays awake for only 7 days. We don't have much time.
デント：ジラーチが目覚めるのは、千年のうち七日だけ。確かにぐずぐずしてはいられないね。

Iris: Let's work together to bring back the trees and water!

Musashi: The illusive Pokemon, Jirachi. We've just heard some great news.
ムサシ：幻のポケモン、ジラーチ。おいしい話を聞いたわね。
Maboroshi no Pokemon, Jirachi. Oishii hanashi wo kiitawa ne.
Nya-su: If we catch that thing, it'll grant any wish for us.
ニャース：そいつをゲットすれば、何だって願いは叶うニャ。
Soitsu wo getto sureba, nan datte negai wa kanau nya.
Kojirou: Yes, like our wish of capturing Pikachu.
コジロウ：ああ、ピカチュウゲットという我らの願いも叶えてもらえるしな。

Satoshi: So, this is the lake's shrine.
サトシ：これが湖の祠…。

Holly: That's right. And there's also a shrine on the top of that mountain over there. According to the legend, we have to bring Jirachi there to have it grant our wishes.
ホリー：ええ。それから、あの山の頂上には山の祠っていうのがあってね、言い伝えによれば、ジラーチに願いを叶えてもらうには、一緒にそこへ行かなきゃならないんだって。

Dent: But where should we start searching?

サトシ：ひょっとして、もうここにはいないんじゃないのか？どっか別…

Holly: No, that can't be! Jirachi wouldn't leave this mountain, no matter what! But even so, what if we can't find it by tomorrow. Jirachi, oh please come out, Jirachi!
ホリー：そんなはずない！ジラーチはこの山を離れたりしない！絶対に！でも…もしも…。もしも明日までに見つからなかったら…。ジラーチ！出てきて！お願いよ、ジラーチ！
