Takemitsu, the host of the show, introduces the previous winner―a female Mijumaru named Mijuka―who the winner of this year's competition will get to become partners with. Mijrumaru falls head over heals for Mijuka and shows his affection, but a Futachimaru named Ceasar interferes. Synopsis
On the way to the next island, the ship carrying Satoshi and the gang enters a deep fog. As Satoshi and the gang stand on the deck, a gigantic Pokémon shadow appears infront of the ship, but somehow disappears into thin air. After landing on Mahora Island, Satoshi hears about rumors of people witnessing giant Pokémon on one of the small islands nearby. Determined to find out about the giant shadow they saw earlier, Satoshi and the gang cross over to the small island through a path revealed only when the tide ebbs. As soon as they set foot on the island, the gang are attacked by a giant Kuitaran, who sets the forest on fire with it's Flamethrower. This causes the forest Pokémon to flee in panic, and during the commotion, Kibago falls into a deep slumber from a wild Tamagetake's Spore attack. The gang eventually find themselves in a dead end with a steep cliff in front of them. As they brace themselves for another Flamethrower, a mysterious figure with a hat and trench coat shield them from the attack. Seeing this, the giant Pokémon suddenly disappears along with the mysterious figure. The gang start searching around and discover a very old, broken down Pokémon Center. After Joi helps recover Kibago from it's slumber, the mysterious figure from earlier busts in and reveals herself as a Pokémon Center Investigator.

However, soon after that they encounter a Caterpie, who appears to have been left behind due to not being able to evolve yet. Satoshi remembers the Caterpie he caught after his departure from Masara Town, and decides to help Caterpie evolve. While picking Oran berries to feed Caterpie, they stumble across the territory of a Ringuma. The angry Ringuma chases after Satoshi and Caterpie, and after a short battle with Ringuma, Caterpie evolves into Trancell. Later, Iris and Dent receive news from Joi that a swarm of Butterfree will be arriving on the island in about a week. Satoshi worries if he can get Trancell to evolve by then, but Dent assures him that Trancell usually evolve quickly. However, the swarm of Butterfree arrive earlier than schedule, apparently due to the strong winds which carried them to the island. According to Joi, the Butterfree will only stay until the next morning after arriving at the island. With little time left, Satoshi and Trancell train hard, but they are interfered by Rocket-Dan who steals both Pikachu and Trancell.

On their way, Satoshi encounters a Pokémon he had never seen before, and strangely, the Pokédex doesn't have any data on the Pokémon either. Just as Satoshi tries to battle it, it's trainer appears, and reveals that the Pokémon is called Erikiteru, and that it's from the Kalos region. The trainer introduces herself as Pansy, a Pokémon jounalist. She had come to Minori-Island to do a news coverage on the festival. She tells Satoshi and the gang about the Pokémon Sumo tournament going to be held at the festival, so they decide to participate. As the gang enjoy the festival while waiting for the tournament, Satoshi meets a boy named Yukiya, and gets into a fight with him. Later when the tournament begins, Satoshi discovers that Yukiya is the trainer of Goloog, the top choice for this year's winner. Ibuki had come to the island to capture a shiny Crimgan, but her Kairyu suddenly went missing. Satoshi and the gang offer to search for her Kairyu, and with the help of Satoshi's Lizardon and Iris's Kairyu, they were able to find her Kairyu sleeping in a field of flowers. However, Iris's Kairyu accidentaly crushes the flowers, which angers Ibuki's Kairyu and starts a feud between the two Dragon-types. Later, Satoshi and the gang join Ibuki in her search for the shiny Crimgan, but on their way to the cave where the Crimgan lives, they see several wild Pokémon fleeing from something. Once they arrive at the cave, they find out that the entrance had been blocked by someone. They use their Kairyu to open the entrance, but their Pokémon suddenly cover their ears in pain. According to Ibuki, somebody is emitting an sonic wave, audible only to Pokémon. They soon discover that Rocket-Dan had set up a device inside the cave to drive out all the Pokémon, so they could capture the shiny Crimgan for themselves.

Synopsis
Satoshi and the gang arrive at one of the islands among the Decolora Archipelago, just in time to witness a comet, which only appears once every several decades. According to legend, a group of Ghost Pokémon used to terrorize the island long ago, but a hero from across the sea appeared, and lured the Pokémon to the top of mountain. As he raised his arms a large comet appeared. Transfixed by this amazing event, the Ghost Pokémon calmed down and began to obey the hero. Since then, the comet was named after the hero. After enjoying an early dinner, the gang heads out to the top of the mountain, where a large coliseum said to have been built as a battlefield for trainers who wished to challenge the hero, stands. They enter the coliseum to find a stone statue of the hero, but Rocket-Dan, who have disguised themselves as Ghost Pokémon and were hiding behind the statue, attack the gang, although their plans fail when Erikiteru unleashes an electric attack on them. As Rocket-Dan reveal themselves, they and the gang are suddenly attacked by a group of wild Ghost Pokémon.

Synopsis
Satoshi and the gang decide to have a picnic while waiting for the next ship. As they enjoy lunch together with all their Pokémon, Mijumaru and Zuruggu irritate Emonga which prompts her to shock them with Discharge. Iris warns her not to use Discharge, but Emonga simply ignores her trainer. Later Emonga and Kibago play together, and Iris reminds Emonga to be careful not to let
Kibago get hurt. As they approach a tree, they encounter a Dentula, and despite Emonga's efforts to stop it, it attacks Kibago with an electric attack, sending him rolling down the hill and crashing into a large rock. Iris automatically assumes that Emonga had done this to Kibago. This upsets the Sky squirrel Pokémon, and she flies away. As Emonga glides along, a sudden gust makes her lose balance, and she falls down where Rocket-Dan were having their meeting. Emonga battles them and single handedly defeats all of Musashi and Kojiro's Pokemon. Although annoyed at first, Musashi sweet talks Emonga into joining Rocket-Dan. Thinking this would be the perfect revenge towards Iris, Emonga, without a second thought, joins Rocket-Dan. Later on, with Emonga's help, Rocket-Dan encounters the gang and manages to steal Kibago. But just as Rocket-Dan were rejoicing the newest addition to their team, Nyasu overhears Emonga talking to Kibago about using Rocket-Dan for her big scheme.
