Synopsis
Satoshi and the gang arrive at one of the islands among the Decolora Archipelago, just in time to witness a comet, which only appears once every several decades. According to legend, a group of Ghost Pokémon used to terrorize the island long ago, but a hero from across the sea appeared, and lured the Pokémon to the top of mountain. As he raised his arms a large comet appeared. Transfixed by this amazing event, the Ghost Pokémon calmed down and began to obey the hero. Since then, the comet was named after the hero. After enjoying an early dinner, the gang heads out to the top of the mountain, where a large coliseum said to have been built as a battlefield for trainers who wished to challenge the hero, stands. They enter the coliseum to find a stone statue of the hero, but Rocket-Dan, who have disguised themselves as Ghost Pokémon and were hiding behind the statue, attack the gang, although their plans fail when Erikiteru unleashes an electric attack on them. As Rocket-Dan reveal themselves, they and the gang are suddenly attacked by a group of wild Ghost Pokémon.

Narrator: Satoshi and the gang arrive at one of the islands of the Decolora Archipelago, as they continue their travels along with Pansy, the Pokémon journalist.
ナレーション：ポケモンルポライターのバンジーと共にカントー地方への旅を続けるサトシたちは、デコロラ諸島のとある島に到着した。

Satoshi: Uddeto comet?
サトシ：ウッデート彗星？

Pansy: That's right. Tonight the comet will come closest to the Earth. That's why we're going to climb that mountain!
パンジー：ええ。今晩最も接近するのよ。だから登るの。あの山にね。
Ee. Konban mottomo sekkin suru no yo. Dakara noboru no. Ano yama ni ne.
Dent: Uddeto comet is a beautiful comet, which can only be seen once in several decades. I'm excited to witness such a mysterious and fantastic astronomical show!
デント：ウッデート彗星と言えば、十数年に一度観測できるという美しいほうき星。ミステリアスでファンタスティックな天体ショーを見られるなんて感激だよ！
Uddeto suisei to ieba, jussunen ni ichido kansoku dekiru to iu utsukushii houkiboshi. Misuteriasu de fantasutikku na tentai sho- wo mirareru nante kangeki da yo!
Pansy: That's not all. According to the information I got, when the comet appears, Pokémon gather at the mountain and exhibit mysterious behavior.
パンジー：それだけじゃないわ。私がつかんだ情報では、この彗星が現れる時、山にポケモンたちが集まり不思議な行動を取るそうよ。
Sore dake janai wa. Watashi ga tsukanga jouhou de wa, kono suisei ga arawareru toki, yama ni Pokemon tachi ga atsumari fushigi na koudou wo toru sou yo.
Iris: What exactly do the Pokémon do?
アイリス：へえ、何をするんですか?
Hee, nani wo surundesu ka?
Pansy: No one seems to know. That's exactly why I want to solve the mystery!
パンジー：それが…どうもよくわからないの。だからこそ、今回の取材でその謎を解明したいの！
Sore ga...doumo yoku wakaranai no. Dakara koso, konkai no shuzai de sono nazo wo kaimei shitai no!
Erikiteru: Eri Eri!
エリキテル：エリエリ！
Satoshi: I can't wait to see what kind of Pokémon gather there!
サトシ：どんなポケモンが集まるのか楽しみだぜ！

Satoshi: What he heck is this place?

Iris: Amazing.
アイリス：すごい！

Pansy: Long ago, many people lived here, and the island prospered. These ruins are telling us their tale. So, shall we have an early dinner?
パンジー：かつてこの島には大勢の人が住み、とても栄えていたらしいの。この遺跡がそれを物語っているわね。それじゃあ、早めの夕食にしましょうか。
Katsute kono shima ni wa oozei no hito ga sumi, totemo sakaete itarashii no. Kono iseki ga sore wo monogatatte iru wa ne. Sore jaa, hayame no yuushoku ni shimashou ka.
Erikiteru: Eri!
エリキテル：エリ！
Pansy: According to the records, there was an incident which a group of Pokémon attacked the people.
パンジー：記録によれば、昔ポケモンが集団で人を襲う出来事があったそうよ。
Kiroku ni yoreba, mukashi Pokemon ga shuudan de hito wo osou dekigoto ga atta sou yo.
Satoshi: The Pokémon attacked people?
サトシ：ポケモンが襲う？
Pokemon ga osou?
Iris: Oh no...
アイリス：そんな…。
Sonna...
Pansy: The people tried to calm down the Pokémon but the situation never got better, and the island eventually became a mess.
パンジー：人々はなんとかしてポケモンたちを静めようとしたらしいけど、自体は全く納まらず、島は大混乱に陥ってしまったの。

Dent: So they gave up?
デント：お手上げ…だったんですか？
Oteage...dattan desu ka?
Pansy: Yes...but a Pokémon trainer, who would later become a hero, appeared. Huh, that's odd. What? It's gone!
パンジー：ええ。でもそこに一人のポケモントレーナーが現れた。後に勇者と呼ばれたこの人物がね。あれ、変だな。ええっ？ない、ない、ない！どこにもない！
Ee. Demo soko ni hitori no Pokemon tore-na- ga arawareta. Ato ni yuusha to yobareta kono jinbutsu ga ne. Are, hen da na. Eeh? Nai, nai, nai! Doko ni mo nai!
Dent: She never changes.
デント：相変わらず…だね。
Aikawarazu...da ne.
Pansy: Really...
パンジー：まったくもう…。
Mattaku mou...
Erikiteru: Eri. Eri Eri.
エリキテル：エリ…。エリエリ。
Pansy: Oh that's right. I put it in that one. Thanks! Let's see...
パンジー：そうだった。そっちに入れたんだっけ！サンキュー！うんと…。
Soudatta. Socchi ni iretan dakke! Sankyu! Unto...
Satoshi: That's a pretty old book.
サトシ：随分古い本ですね。
Zuibun furui hon desu ne.
Pansy: I got a hold of it by accident, while I was doing some research on this island. Here it is. This is the hero.
パンジー：この島について調べていて、偶然手に入れたのよ。あった、これよ。これがその勇者。
Kono shima ni tsuite shirabete ite, guuzen te ni ireta no yo. Atta, kore yo. Kore ga sono yuusha.
Iris: So this guy is the hero.
アイリス：この人が…。
Kono hito ga...
Satoshi: Really.
サトシ：へえ。
Hee.
Pansy: Long ago, a herd of Pokémon attacked this peaceful island. That's when he came. His name was Uddeto, and he came to aid the people from the Pokémon attacks. Uddeto cleverly lead the Pokémon to the peak of the mountain. As he reached the peak, he raised his hand to the night sky, and a comet appeared, shining brightly on the land below. It was as though Udetto had predicted that the comet would arrive at that very moment. The Pokémon were mesmerised. They calmed down and began to obey Uddeto. Thus, the island regained it's peace, and Udetto remained on the island with the Pokémon Hearing this, trainers gathered from around the land to challenge him.
パンジー：昔々、平和だった島が突然ポケモンたちの群れに襲われた。そんな時、海を渡りこの島へ彼はやってきた。その名はウッデート。ポケモンたちの襲撃に疲れ果てた人々を救うために。ウッデートはポケモンたちを巧みに誘導し、山の頂上へ向かった。そして、頂上へついた彼が夜空に手を掲げると、まばゆい光を放つほうき星が現れ、地上を明るく照らした。まるで星の出現を予言するかのようなウッデートに、ポケモンたちは釘付けとなり、怒りを静め従った。こうして島に平和がよみがえった。その後ウッデートは、ポケモンたちと島に留まり、それを知ったトレーナーたちが挑戦しようと各地から集まって来たそうよ。

Maru de hoshi no shutsugen wo yogen suru ka no you na Udetto ni, Pokemon tachi wa kugizuke to nari, ikari wo shizume shitagatta. Koushite shima ni heiwa ga yomigaetta. Sonogo Udetto wa, Pokemono tachi to shima ni todomari, sore wo shitta tore-na- tachi ga chousen shiyou to kakuchi kara atsumatte kita sou yo.
Satoshi: Challenge him? To a battle?
サトシ：挑戦？バトルするためにですか？
Chousen? Batoru suru tame ni desu ka?
Pansy: That's right. Uddeto had incredible battles on the battlefield built on top of this mountain. He never lost, not even once.
パンジー：ええ。山の頂上に建設されたバトルフィールドで、ウッデートはすばらしいバトルを繰り広げ、一度も負けた事がなかったんですって。
Ee. Yama no choujou ni kensetsu sareta batoruri-rudo de Uddeto wa subarashii batoru wo kurihiroge, ichidomo maketa koto ga nakatandesutte.
Iris: A complete victory？ That's so amazing!
アイリス：全戦全勝？すごーい！
Zensenzenshou? Sugo-i!
Satoshi: I wish I could have battled him too.
サトシ：俺もバトルしてみたかったなあ。
Ore mo batoru shite mitakatta naa.
Pansy: The people called him a hero, and named the comet after him to praise his achievements. Tonight we'll be able to see that comet! And I'm going to capture the mysterious behavior of the Pokémon on my camera.
パンジー：島の人は彼を勇者と呼び、その時のほうき星をウッデート彗星と名付け、功績を称えた。今夜はそのウッデート彗星を見ることができるわ。ポケモンの不思議な行動を、必ずカメラに収めて見せる！
Shima no hito wa kare wo yuusha to yobi, sono toki no houkiboshi wo Uddeto suisei to nazuke, kouseki wo tataeta. Kon'ya wa sono Uddeto suisei wo miru koto ga dekiru wa. Pokemon no fushigi na koudou wo, kanarazu kamera ni osamete miseru!
Pikachu: Pikapika!
ピカチュウ：ピカピカ！

Musashi: Did you hear all that?
ムサシ：聞いた？

Kojiro: I heard it.
コジロウ：聞いた聞いた。

Musashi: They were saying something about heroes and comets, however...
ムサシ：勇者だの彗星だの、なんだかごちゃごちゃ言ってるけど…
Yuusha da no, suisei da no, nandaka gochagocha itteru kedo...
Kojiro: We don't care about that. Our only target is that Pikachu.
コジロウ：そんな話はどうでもいい。ターゲットはピカチュウのみ。
Sonna hanashi wa doudemo ii. Ta-getto wa Pikachu nomi.
Nyasu: Today is the day we finally capture it.
ニャース：今日こそ絶対ゲットするのニャ。
Kyou koso zettai getto suru no nya.
Pansy: So, let's go!
パンジー：よし、それじゃ出発しましょ！
Yoshi, sore ja shuppatsu shimasho!
All: Okay!
みんな：はい！
Anima: Please, wait.
アニマ：お待ちください。
Omachi kudasai.
Iris: What's up?
アイリス：なになに？
Nani nani?
Kibago: Kiba?
キバゴ：キバ？
Anima: You are headed towards the peak of the mountain, am I right?
アニマ：みなさん、山の頂上へ向かわれるのですね。
Minasan, yama no choujou he mukawareru no desu ne.
Pansy: Yes, that's right.
パンジー：ええ、そうですけど…。
Ee, soudesu kedo...
Anima: Then please take this with you.
アニマ：でしたら、これをお持ちになってください。

Satoshi: And this thing is...
サトシ：これって…。
Korette...
Anima: I'm sure it will be of great use to you. Please be careful.
アニマ：きっとお役に立つはずです。それではお気をつけて。

Satoshi: Hey, wait!
サトシ：ああっ、待ってください！

Dent: Um...
デント：あの…。

Iris: She's gone.
アイリス：行っちゃった。

Dent: I wonder who that was?
デント：一体誰だろう。
Ittai dare darou.
Satoshi: No idea.
サトシ：さあ。

Pansy: I've seen that medal somewhere before...
パンジー：そのメダル、どこかで見たような…。

Satoshi: Huh?
サトシ：へ？

Pansy: Nah, it must be my imagination. Well, let's go.
パンジー：ううん、きっと私の思い違いね。さ、行きましょ。

Musashi: Why do I have to dress up like this?
ムサシ：どうしてこんな変装しなくちゃなんないのよ。
Doushite konna hensou shinakucha nannai no yo.
Nyasu: We're going to hide ourselves in the dark and scare the twerps, then grab Pikachu. To do that, we must pretend to be Ghost Pokémon.
ニャース：闇にまぎれて忍び寄り、ジャリボーイたちを驚かす。その隙にピカチュウをいただく。それにはゴーストタイプになりきるのが一番ニャ。
Yami ni magirete shinobi yori, Jaribo-i tachi wo odorokasu. Sono suki ni Pikachu wo itadaku. Sore ni wa go-suto taipu ni narikiru no ga ichiban nya.
Kojiro: This plan requires a high order of acting skills. Therefore, only a top actor or actress can get the job done.
コジロウ：今回の作戦は高度な演技力を必要とする。すなわち、一流の俳優・女優でなければ務まらない。
Konkai no sakusen wa koudo na engiryoku wo hitsuyou to suru. Sunawachi, itchiryuu no haiyuu joyuu de nakereba tsutomaranai.
Musashi: I see. That sounds like the perfect plan for myself. Alright guys, let's put on a performance that would surprise any PokéStar judge!
ムサシ：なるほど。私にぴったりの作戦ってわけね。よーし、ポケウッドの審査員も腰を抜かすような演技を披露するのよ！
Naruhodo. Watashi ni pittari no sakusentte wake ne. Yo-shi, Pokeuddo no shinsain mo koshi wo nukasu youna engi wo hirou suru no yo!
Rocket-Dan: Yeah!

Satoshi: Doesn't look like the Pokémon have gathered yet.
サトシ：ポケモンたちはまだ集まってないみたいですね。
Pokemon tachi wa mada atsumatte nai mitai desu ne.
Pansy: Be careful not to agitate them.
パンジー：みんな、くれぐれも刺激しないで。
Minna, kuregure no shigeki shinaide.
Pikachu: Pika? Pikachu.
ピカチュウ：ピカ？ピカチュウ…。
Satoshi: What's up, Pikachu?
サトシ：どうした？ピカチュウ。

Iris: Hey is that the...
アイリス：あ、あれって・・・

Pansy: That's right! Those are the ruins of the battlefield!
パンジー：ええ！バトルフィールドの遺跡よ。

Satoshi: So this is where Uddeto had his battles!
サトシ：勇者ウッデートは、ここでバトルをしてたのか！

ピカチュウ：ピーカ…。
Pansy: Let's go inside.
パンジー：さ、中へ入りましょ。
Sa, naka e hairmasho.

Iris: Come on, this is nothing. Though it is a bit creepy...
アイリス：平気平気。でもちょっと気味悪いかも…。
Heiki, heiki. Demo chotto kimi warui kamo...
Pansy: Did they scare you? It's okay now.
パンジー：怖かった？もう大丈夫よ。
Kowakatta? Mou daijoubu yo.
Erikiteru: E-ri...
エリキテル：エーリ…。
Satoshi: Aren't you going a little overboard, Iris? They were just some Koromori.
サトシ：アイリス大げさだなあ。ただのコロモリじゃないか。

ピカチュウ：ピカピカ。
Satoshi: Oh, just some Fushide...
サトシ：なんだ、フシデかあ…。

Iris: Scared of a bunch of Fushide? What a kid.
アイリス：ただのフシデにそんなにおどろくなんて、子供ねー。

Dent: Were those the Pokémon that are suppose to gather here? Or do they just live here.
デント：今のが集まったポケモンでしょうか？それともここに住んでるポケモン？

Pansy: No idea.
パンジー：さあ…。
Saa...
Kojiro: They're coming. Get ready!
コジロウ：来るぞ！用意しとけよ！
Kuruzo! Youi shitoke yo!
Iris: This is...
アイリス：これは…。
Kore wa...
Kibago: Kiba...
キバゴ：キバ…。
Satoshi: That's the hero Uddeto! Right?
サトシ：これって…勇者ウッデートだ！そうですよね？
Korette...yuusha Uddeto da! Sou desu yo ne?
Pansy: Yup. That's quite a statue. I'm sure it took a lot of time for them to make this.
パンジー：ええ、立派な石像ね。相当時間をかけて作られたんじゃないかしら。

Iris: Wow.
アイリス：凄い…。
Sugoi...
Dent: This shows how much the islanders and Pokémon loved and respected him!
デント：それだけ慕われ、尊敬されていたという証拠ですね！島の人やポケモンたちに。

Pansy: This must have been the most sacred place on this island.

Pansy: Dragon Pulse! Now's our chance!
パンジー：りゅうのはどう！今のうちに逃げるのよ！

Musashi: We're getting out of here too!
ムサシ：私たちも行くのよ。
