Synopsis
As Satoshi and the gang approach Ganryu Island, Dent recieves an urgent phone call from his two brothers, Pod and Corn, who are on their way to Ganryu Island as well. Later, while the gang prepares lunch on Ganryu Island, they have a rude encounter with trainer and her Yukinooh. Just then, Pod and Corn arrive and tell Dent about a recent incident in which a Ice-type trainer named challenged Sanyou Gym, and threatened to close down the Gym if she were to win. She defeated both Pod and Corn, and she came all the way to Ganryu Island to defeat the last of the 3 Sanyou Gym Leaders, Dent. The trainer with the Yukinooh, named Drago, who is revealed to be the trainer who defeated Pod and Corn, challenges Dent to a 1 on 1 battle. Although Drago is known to use Ice-types, Dent decides to battle with Yanapp, his most trusted partner, despite the type disadvantage. Now it's up to Dent and Yanapp to defend Sanyou Gym.

Satoshi: Hey, there's an Island!
サトシ：あっ、島が近づいてきたぞ。

Iris: I wonder what kind of Island this will be?

Pansy: It's called Ganryu Island.

Pansy: Long ago, the strongest trainer from the Isshu Region, and the strongest trainer from the Sinnoh Region, battled under the Island's lighthouse.
パンジー：かつてあの島にある灯台の元に、イッシュ地方で一番強いと言われたトレーナーと、シンオウ地方で一番強いと言われたトレーナーがバトルした島よ。

パーカー：デント様！ポッド様とコーン様からお電話が入っております。

Dent: From Pod and Corn?
デント：えっ、ポッドとコーンから？

Pansy: Who are Pod and Corn?
パンジー：ポッドとコーンって？

Satoshi: They're Dent's brothers.
サトシ：デントの兄弟です。
Dento no kyoudai desu.
Iris: Before the 3 of them were the Gym Leader of Sanyou Gym, but after Dent left to travel around, those 2 are managing the Gym.
アイリス：以前は３人でサンヨウジムのジムリーダーをやってたんですけど、デントが旅に出て、今は二人でやってるんです。

Pod: Dent, you're on your way to Ganryu Island, right?
ポッド：デント、お前今ガンリュウ島に向かってるんだよな。

Dent: Well, yeah so?
デント：えっ、そうだけど・・・。
Eh, sou dakedo...Corn: We're also on our way there now.
コーン：今、僕たちもそこに向かっているところです。
Ima, boku tachi mo soko ni mukatteru tokoro desu.
Dent: What? What about the Gym, then?
デント：ええっ！？じゃあ、ジムは？
Eeh!? Jaa, jimu wa?
Pod: We'll tell you the details when we see you.
ポッド：詳しいことは会ってから話す。

Dent: I wonder what happened?
デント：一体何があったんだろう？

Narrator: As they travel through the Decolora Archipelago to reach the Kanto region, Satoshi and the gang land on Ganryu Island to meet up with Dent's brothers.
ナレーション：カントー地方を目指しデコロラ諸島の旅を続けるサトシ達は、デントの兄弟・ポッドとコーンの到着を待つために、ガンリュウ島に降り立った。

Pansy: Come out, Gogoat! You guys are meeting someone right?
パンジー：出てきて、ゴーゴート！デント君たちは待ち合わせがあるのよね？

Dent: Yes.
デント：はい。

Pansy: So I'll go ahead to the lighthouse...
パンジー：じゃあ、私は一足先に灯台に・・・

Erikiteru: Eriri! Eri eri?

Pansy: What's that? On no! There was a draft I had to send in by today!
パンジー：なにそれ？ああっ！今日中に送らなきゃならない原稿があったんだ！

Pansy: I'll go work on it at the Pokémon Center...

Iris: Hey, since we're always letting Dent make lunch for us, why don't we treat him to lunch once in a while?
アイリス：うーんでもさ、いつもデントに作ってもらってばっかりだし、たまには私たちでデントにごちそうしない？

Dent: Really? Then, me and Yanappu will go look for some berries for dessert. Come on out.
デント：そうかい？じゃあ僕はヤナップと一緒にデザートのきのみでも探してくるよ。出ておいで。

Iris: Hey, Satoshi it's burning!
アイリス：ああっ！サトシ焦げてる！

Satoshi: Cooking sure is hard.

Dent: Yanappu was the one who found them.
デント：全部ヤナップがみつけたんだよ。

Iris: Thank you, Yanappu!
アイリス：ヤナップありがとう！

Satoshi: Hey, it's a Yukinooh.
サトシ：ユキノオーじゃないか。
Yukinooh janai ka.
PokéDex: Yukinooh, the Frost Tree Pokémon. It lives quietly in snow-covered mountains. It's produces a blizzard to conceal itself.
ポケモン図鑑：ユキノオー、じゅひょうポケモン。万年雪が積もる山脈で静かに暮らす。ブリザードを発生させて姿を隠す。
Yukinooh, Juhyou Pokemon. Mannen yuki ga tsumoru sanmyaku de shizuka ni kurasu. Buriza-do wo hassei sasete sugata wo kakusu.
Satoshi: I wonder if it's a wild one.
サトシ：野生なのかな。

Dent: Yanappu, why don't you share some of our berries with it?
デント：ヤナップ、せっかくだからおすそ分けしよう。

Dent: Yanappu, are you okay?
デント：大丈夫かい、ヤナップ！

Drago: That's what you get for getting too close to my Yukinooh.

Dent: Is this your Pokémon?
デント：あなたのポケモンなんですか？
Anata no Pokemon nandesu ka?
Drago: Yes. Do you have a problem with that?
ドラゴ：ええ。何か問題でも？
Ee. Nani ka mondai demo?
Satoshi: Why'd it have to hit Yanappu like that?
サトシ：いきなり殴るなんてひどいじゃないか！
Ikinari naguru nante hidoi janai ka!
Iris: That's right! Yanappu was only trying to be nice!
アイリス：そうよ！ヤナップは親切であげようとしたのに！

Drago: If you don't want it to get hit, you should keep it in it's Poké Ball, boy.
ドラゴ：殴られるのがいやならモンスターボールに入れておくことね、坊や。

Pod: Hey, Dent!
ポッド：おーい、デント！

Dent: Pod! Corn!

Drago: Dent?
ドラゴ：デント？
Dento?
Pod: You!
ポッド：お前は！
Omae wa!
Corn: So you're here already.
コーン：もう来ていたんですか。

Dent: Do you know each other?
デント：えっ、知り合いなの？

Pod: Well yeah, kinda.
ポッド：知り合いっつーか、なんつーか・・・。

Corn: She's a trainer who challenged Sanyou Gym.
コーン：この人は、サンヨウジムに挑戦してきたトレーナーなんです。

Drago: My name is Drago. So you're the boy called Dent.
ドラゴ：私の名はドラゴ。君がデントって坊やだったのね。

デント：何があったのか、詳しく教えてくれるかい？

Corn: Why on earth would you want to do that?

Drago: Because I enjoy doing so. Isn't that good enough a reason?
ドラゴ：おもしろいから。それだけじゃいけない？
Omoshiroi kara. Sore dake ja ikenai?
Drago: So are you accepting my challenge or not?
ドラゴ：私の挑戦を受けるの？受けないの？
Watashi no chousen wo ukeru no? Ukenai no?
Corn: We can't accept such an unreasonable request.
コーン：そんな理不尽な申し出、受けるわけにはいきません。

ドラゴ：そう。逃げるのね。

Pod: You're starting to get on my nerves! Fine, we'll accept your challenge!
ポッド：このー、あったま来たぜ！てめえの挑戦受けてやるよ！

Corn: Pod, calm down. If we lose, that means we'll have to close down the Gym.
コーン：ポッド、冷静になって。負けたらジムを閉めなきゃならないんですよ。
Poddo, reisei ni natte. Maketara Jimu wo shimenakya naranaindesu yo.
Pod: Then all we have to do is not lose. I'll beat this scumbag!
ポッド：負けなきゃいいんだよ。こんな奴、俺がぜってーつぶしてやる！

Drago: One of my favorite things to do is to teach hot-headed boys like you a lesson or two.
ドラゴ：私の楽しみはあなたのような熱い坊やの鼻をへし折ること。

Pod: We'll be using 1 Pokemon each. The battle ends when either one of our Pokemon can't fight anymore. Got that?
ポッド：使用ポケモンは一体。どちらかのポケモンが戦闘不能になったらバトル終了だ。それでいいな？
Shiyou Pokemon wa ittai. Dochiraka no Pokemon ga sentou funou ni nattara batoru shuuryou da. Sore de iina?
Drago: Sure. I came here all the way from Sinnoh, so this had better be fun.
ドラゴ：ええ。わざわざシンオウから来たんだから楽しませてよね。

Pod: You'll be completely cooked from our burning-hot battling. Come on out, Baoppu!
ポッド：へっ、俺たちの炎のバトルで料理してやるぜ。出て来い、バオップ！

Drago: Let's go!
ドラゴ：行くわよ！

Corn: Mammoo. A Ground and Ice type.
コーン：マンムー。じめん・こおりタイプ。
Mammoo. Jimen koori taipu.
Pod: Then Fire-type moves should be super effective! Go, Fire Punch!
ポッド：だったらほのおタイプの技はこうかばつぐんだぜ！炎のパンチだ！

Drago: Ice Fang.

Pod: You okay, Baoppu?
ポッド：大丈夫か？バオップ。

Drago: That was too boring and easy. Hey boy, you're a Gym Leader too, aren't you? Wanna battle?
ドラゴ：簡単すぎてつまらないわ。そっちの坊やもジムリーダーなんでしょ？バトルしない？

Corn: Now that Pod's lost, I guess have no reason to decline.
コーン：ポッドが負けてしまった今、断る理由はありませんね。

Corn: Hyappu, I'm counting on you!
コーン：頼みますよ、ヒヤップ！

Drago: Let's go!
ドラゴ：行くわよ！

コーン：オニゴーリ。またこおりタイプか。

Drago: Let me enjoy this one okay?
ドラゴ：少しは楽しませてよね。

Corn: Hyappu, use Scratch!
コーン：ヒヤップ、ひっかく攻撃！

ドラゴ：ずつき。

Drago: Looks like this is going another boring battle...

Corn: He's also a Gym Leader. In this Gym, challengers are supposed to have battles with all 3 Leaders.
コーン：もう一人のジムリーダーです。このジムは本来、３人の兄弟でジム戦を行っているんです。

Pod: As long as you haven't beat Dent, we still haven't lost!
ポッド：デントを倒さない限り、俺たちはまだ負けてない！

Drago: Now, I can't just allow that to pass, can I? Fine, I'll let you keep your Gym's sign until I battle him. So, where is this Dent?
ドラゴ：聞き捨てならないセリフね。いいわ、その子とバトルするまでジムの看板は預けておく。で、そのデントって坊やはどこにいるの？
Kikizute naranai serifu ne. Iiwa, sonoko to batoru suru made jimu no kanban wa azukete oku. De, sono Dentotte bouya wa doko ni iru no?
Dent: So you came all the way here.
デント：それでわざわざこの島まで・・・。
Sore de waza waza kono shima made...
Drago: Yes. Let's have a battle just like the one between the Ishhu trainer and Sinnoh trainer had before. Sound's interesting, don't you think?
ドラゴ：そう。それもかつてこの島で行われたバトルと同じように、イッシュとシンオウのトレーナーが勝負する、なんておもしろいじゃない？
Sou. Sore mo katsute kono shima de okonawareta batoru to onaji you ni, Isshu to Shin'ou no tore-na- ga shoubu suru, nante omoshiroi janai?
Dent: This isn't just for fun. The future of Sanyou Gym depends on this battle.
デント：おもしろいだけではすみません。僕とあなたとのバトルには、サンヨウジムの未来がかかっているんですから。

Drago: So does that mean you'll accept my challenge? Of course if won't, I'll just take your Gym's sign.

デント：もちろん、受けて立ちます。
